Direct Path to Detour, single focus

Photography by Matthew Gregory Hollis

As a third part of Direct Path to Detour project. Direct Path to Detour, Single Focus directs the viewers’ focus onto a solo performer, Yamamoto himself. While the viewers are situated in a surround circular seating configuration along with live electronic sound design by sound artist sidony o’neal, the solo performer’s multiple approaches to physicality, fictionalized gaze, and choreographic timing dilate spaces in and out.
