Male-Identified explores the harmony and the unease of social perception towards others’ self-expression, in this case specifically related to men/maleness. Using a triptych choreographic form, this fifteen-minutes performance uses three different “costumes” and three varied gestural scores, each sourced and composed through observation of seemingly male-identified public, to contemplate about the idea of gender and criteria for the "normal."

Duration: 15min

Presented at Ray Warren Multicultural Symposium at Lewis and Clark College in Portland OR in November 2011.
